CALC Conference 2026, Singapore
The Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel (“CALC”) Conference 2026, Singapore was held from 15 to 17 July 2026 at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, with the theme “Legislating in a Changing World”. The Conference featured discussions on how legislative drafters can meet the challenges of an evolving legal and socio-political landscape while upholding core drafting principles and practices.
As technology advances and the needs and priorities of societies change, so too must the laws and the law-making process. Legislative drafters must now address issues such as how to ensure technology-neutral laws in the era of digital governance and how to best leverage on AI and other technologies in legislative drafting.
To stay relevant, legislative drafters will have to equip themselves with the right skillsets and values so that they can effectively discharge their duties as guardians of the statute book.
More than 200 delegates from over 40 jurisdictions attended the Conference.
